Mission and History

Mission

  • To aggressively provide the tools and resources for our members to succeed.
  • To further our mission, FAOR has active Government Affairs, Education, Membership, MLS, and Communications Departments. Each of these departments is integral to the programs, events, and services that FAOR members depend on to enhance their careers.

 History

The Firelands Association of REALTORS® has a detailed history that dates back to 1900, when the first meeting of the Firelands Real Estate Licensees was held in Sandusky, OH. The Association received its official charter in November 1950, and was known at the time as the Firelands Realty Cooperative. In 1980, the Board opened its first official office in the Market Stret, and in 2001 moved to Campbell Street. Over the years, the name of the Association has changed, as well as its location offices. What hasn't changed is that FAOR continues to offer stellar customer service to its ever-growing membership base.
